harmful, click bait, unnecessary title that is not at all justified by this surface level writing. there should always be more trans people and with the amount of kids you have and them having a positive role model like your daughter makes it likely that you have more trans kids. I hope we are moving towards a world in which everyone can build their gender on their own from scratch, have full control over their hormones and change their gender on a whim because we are all only here to be and explore ourselves. you seem to be scared of the world, which is fair, the world is scary, but please don't put that on your kids. encourage them to be as big and bold and different as they can be. they will grow up to be self assured and strong and able to handle the scary world. your fear will not protect them, your strength (should you choose to muster some) will.

Not scared of the world at all or trying to be click baity. Just a mum supporting her children, hoping it inspires at least one person out there to think. All mums worry about their kids. I don’t think I’d be a very good one if I didn’t worry. It sounds like we want the same things for children, to be who they are. Sending you love.

You didn’t go into why you hope your other kids aren’t trans though, because of that I agree with Charlie on how this is a bit click bait-y. I absolutely support you and your kids and how you love them all, but considering how a section of this is word for word the same as what was in your insta caption (which is what led me to here in the first place) it seems a little disingenuous and copy and pasted.

Will you go a little more in depth and explain the statement you made in the title in another post?

Thank you for taking the time to read my words. I thought the reason was clear in the post:

41% of LGBTQ+ kids considering suicide is a really scary statistic and in the thirteen years that my daughter has been “out” I've seen access to care become limited, the world is more treacherous for these kids. As a mum, that worries me. I wouldn't wish that path on anyone, however, if that is their path I'm behind them every step of the way.

Beyond that though, titles are supposed to capture attention, I chose that title hoping that it would cause both allies and phobics to want to read further and that happened.

Clickbait means content with the purpose of encouraging visitors to click on a link to another webpage. I’m not directing anyone anywhere else, unless you mean Trevor Project but I only linked it because I mentioned it.

I also don’t think there is anything wrong with quoting my own writing, on my own instagram post.

I’ll definitely be writing more about raising a transgender child, when inspiration strikes, because it is a part of my life, but it’s also not my whole life. There’s some variety between my posts here. 🤍

Ah, see to me I read that statistic and I think more along the lines of how we need to change the world to be more accepting so our youth don’t consider suicide, not that I don’t want my son to be trans. Not that either of our thoughts are wrong, I just didn’t think of it from that angle at first.

Love the Trevor Project so it’s not that I have a problem with that, to me clickbait means just getting attention in general, not necessarily to redirect people to a link.

Between that and the quoting it just came across as disingenuous so I appreciate you taking the time to reply and share your perspective, I understand where you’re coming from more now 🫶

Yeah, that makes total sense and I agree with your perspective too!

Thank you so much for asking for clarification and actually wanting an answer! Not many people do that these days, so you doing that really speaks volumes. You're a real one. 🥰
